Day 01 :

Machame Gate (1,800m) → Machame Camp (2835m)

Hiking Time: 5–7 hours | Distance: 11 km | Habitat: Rainforest

Your adventure begins at Machame Gate after registration and briefing by your mountain guides. The trek starts through dense rainforest filled with towering trees, lush vegetation, and unique wildlife. The trail can be muddy and humid, but the beautiful surroundings make for an exciting start. You arrive at Machame Camp in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Machame Camp( 2,835m) → Shira Camp (3,750m)

Leaving the rainforest behind, the trail climbs into moorland terrain with open landscapes and spectacular mountain views. You will enjoy stunning scenery of Kibo Peak and surrounding valleys as the vegetation becomes smaller and the air cooler. After reaching Shira Camp, you rest and acclimatize while enjoying panoramic views.

Day 03 :

Shira Camp (3,750m) → Lava Tower (4,600m) → Barranco Camp (3,900m)

Hiking Time: 6–8 hours | Distance: 10 km | Habitat: Semi-desert

This important acclimatization day follows the “climb high, sleep low” principle. You ascend to Lava Tower, where you experience higher altitude before descending to Barranco Camp. The route offers dramatic landscapes, volcanic rock formations, and spectacular views of the Western Breach. Overnight at Barranco Camp below the impressive Barranco Wall.

Day 04 :

Barranco Camp (3,900m) → Karanga Camp (3995m)

Karanga Camp (3995m) → Barafu Camp (4,673m)

Today’s trek leads to Barafu Camp, the base camp for your summit attempt. The landscape becomes rugged and rocky with minimal vegetation. Upon arrival, you rest, enjoy an early dinner, and prepare your gear for the midnight ascent to the summit.

Day 06 :

Barafu Camp (4,673m) → Uhuru Peak (5,895m) → Mweka Camp (3,080m)

Your summit attempt begins around midnight under the stars. The steep climb leads to Stella Point and finally Uhuru Peak — the highest point in Africa. Witness an unforgettable sunrise above the clouds before descending to Barafu Camp for rest, then continuing down to Mweka Camp for overnight.
